Thinkscience was co-founded by Ms Joy and two fellow partners who share the same vision — to make science learning clear, engaging, and inspiring for students in Singapore. While Ms Joy leads teaching and day-to-day direction, her co-founders provide support behind the scenes, ensuring Thinkscience continues to grow with a strong foundation.
Ms Joy Teng – Key Tutor & Director
Founder of Thinkscience, Ms Joy is a graduate of Nanyang Technological University and an alumna of National Junior College and Nanyang Girls’ High School. With over 17 years of full-time and private tutoring experience, she has guided countless students in primary and secondary science across Singapore.
Ms Joy is passionate about helping students not just score well, but truly understand science. She imparts effective learning skills, nurtures curiosity, and constantly upgrades her own knowledge to bring fresh insights into every class. Her belief is simple: with the right mindset and guidance, science can be both clear and inspiring.
The Co-Founders – Strategic Partners
Our co-founders are silent partners who lend their expertise in management and support. Though they work quietly in the background, their contribution strengthens the overall Thinkscience mission — to blend professional teaching, well-curated curriculum, and a nurturing environment for every student.
Cindy – Curriculum In-Charge
Cindy oversees the development of Thinkscience’s comprehensive curriculum. A graduate of the National University of Singapore with a specialisation in Chemistry, she is NIE-trained and has taught in several secondary schools. She also brings real-world expertise from her career as a chemist in a leading pharmaceutical company.
Her combined teaching and industry experience allow her to design materials that are both academically rigorous and practically relevant. Cindy ensures all resources are up-to-date with the latest syllabus, well-structured, and geared towards exam success.
Elaine – Admin & Finance Support
Elaine manages the administrative and financial side of Thinkscience, ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. From class scheduling to handling parent enquiries and accounts, she keeps the centre organised and efficient. Her reliable support allows our tutors to focus fully on what matters most — teaching and guiding our students.
Gilbert – Marketing & Design
Gilbert is in charge of marketing, communications, and creative design. With a keen eye for visuals and branding, he ensures Thinkscience’s materials, campaigns, and online presence are engaging and professional. His work helps showcase the heart of Thinkscience to new parents and students, while keeping our brand fresh and inspiring.
